This course involves a study of the criminal justice system and the role of the private security sector; the law relative to arrest, search, and moral, legal, and ethical use of force as a private security person. Emphasis is placed on security operations, emergency medical procedures, public relations, report writing, and career opportunities in contract as well as proprietary security services.

• You are responsible for Live Scan fees, which can be as much as $100 for fingerprint clearance for the DOJ (Dept. of Justice). Parking & health fees are extra: $40 for semester-length permit, or $2 per day; health fee $21. Fees are subject to change without notice. Student rep fee is $1.00.
  
  Students enrolled in other courses that meet on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday cannot enroll in this course.

• Graduates of the 安全学院 who wish to obtain state licenses must pay state licensing fees for the guard card.

注意:To obtain licenses from the State of California, applicants must meet the following conditions:

• No misdemeanor convictions (certain misdemeanor convictions allowable with prior instructor approval, immediate job placement not available with misdemeanor conviction)

  Students should be aware that prior felony or any misdemeanor or felony domestic violence convictions, and some psychological holds, are disqualifying. TROs (Temporary Restraining Orders) can also be a disqualifier.Prior substance abuse(including marijuana)and other disqualifiers may apply in specific positions related to law enforcement or forensics.
