Purpose: The purpose of SOGI is to create a safe 和 open community 和 provide space for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, queer, intersexed, 和 asexual people (LGBTQIA) 和 their allies, as well as other students that identify as non-heteronormative. SOGI endeavors to create a safe space for students to express 和 explore their identity without judgment, where they can be their full authentic selves, 和 receive peer support. The club strives to promote diversity 和 cultural awareness through meetings 和 activities 和 by challenging cultural norms that result in oppression.

These out Grossmont大学 LGBTQ faculty, academics 和 staff have committed to being a part of the visible presence of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender 和 queer community. With this Out List, these faculty, academics 和 staff hope to present a welcoming, open, diverse 和 public community to all who look for their leadership on campus.

The goal of the Safe Zone Ally Program is to provide a welcoming environment for lesbian,gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual 和/or ally (LGBTQQIAA) persons by establishing an identifiable network of supportive persons who can provide support, information 和 a safe place for LGBTQQIAA persons within our campus community. Those who have committed to being Safe Zone Allies indicate that bigotry 和 discrimination,specifically regarding LGBTQQIAA persons, are not tolerated.
Look for the Grossmont大学 Safe Zones logo throughout campus. It identifies a person who has completed the on-campus LGBTQQIAA Safe Zone Ally Training 和 has pledged their commitment to supporting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, queer, intersex, asexual 和 ally people.
