Ethnic Studies

Ethnic Studies classes in general are helpful for further studies in such diverse fields as law, history, sociology, education, and political science.

The Ethnic Studies and Gender Studies certificates prepare students to transfer to four-year institutions for continued study in African-American Studies, Mexican American/Latinx Studies, Asian-American and Pacific Islander Studies, American Indian Studies, or Women's Studies. Please note: Certificates of Proficiency are designed for the student who needs to be prepared for effective interaction in a diverse workplace or other settings. A department-issued certificate may be awarded upon successful completion of a prescribed course of study. These certificates will not appear on a student's transcript.
